For people most at risk of serious illness if they catch coronavirus, the Government are giving special advice called Cocooning. This is our way of protecting the people in our community that are at the most risk of serious illness. Cocooning is for people who are extremely medically vulnerable and applies to all people who are over the age of 70 years even if they feel fit and well Cocooning means you should stay at home at all times and avoid face-to-face contact. Even within your home, you should minimise all non-essential contact with other members of your household This is for your own protection.

What you need to do

  • Stay at home at all times and avoid any face-to -face contact for 2 weeks from the 27th March, this advice may change on any further direction from the Government
  • If you have a garden or balcony spend time in the fresh air
  • Please keep in touch with family and friends over the phone or online if you have access
  • Keep yourself mobile by getting up and moving as much as possible
  • Ask neighbours, family, friends or staff to get any shopping or medicine you might need
  • Use the phone to contact your GP or anyone you need, Do Not Leave Your House
